FIXED WING MAGNETICS AND RADIOMETRICS

The Xact™ gradiometer system is the most cost effective means of acquiring high resolution geophysical data for the successful mapping of subtle geological features.

At the heart of the Xact™ fixed-wing magnetic and radiometric system is the Pilatus PC-6 Turbo Porter STOL aircraft. Renowned for its safety and ability to fly slowly, this aircraft is the ideal platform for high resolution airborne surveys.

The aircraft has unrivaled STOL performance which allows survey in even the most remote environments. This coupled with a very low stall speed results in excellent drape characteristics.

All aircraft are owned by NRG ™ and are dedicated full time survey platforms. The aircraft have been subject to an intense magnetic clean up and degaussing process, which ensures very low noise magnetic data. In addition, the data is compensated using our specially adapted and modified 27-term compensation algorithm. The resultant processed data is of a very high standard and results in a superior standard of final product.

NEW RESOLUTION MAGNETICS

The Xact™ system has a 9.8m horizontal sensor separation, which allows for measurement of the horizontal magnetic gradient. Incorporating the magnetic gradient in gridding algorithms provides significant improvement in delineating line parallel features, spatial positioning of offline anomalies and overall resolution of the magnetic data.

NEW RESOLUTION RADIOMETRICS

As a compliment to the industry-leading gradient enhanced magnetic data, NRG™ utilises state of the art Radiation Solution Spectrometers with up to 2048 in Nal crystal packs. This ensures that the radiometric data is of the highest standard currently available. Full spectral NASVD processing is applied to all data as a standard. Radiometric spectra is recorded at 2Hz which ensures proper definition of even the most narrow of anomalies.

Key benefits of the system include:

  • The fixed-wing system is the most cost effective means of acquiring airborne data
  • Superior sampling rates: 20Hz for magnetic data and 2Hz for full 256 channel
  • Custom built DAS enable highly synchronous high speed sampling using a Rb atomic clock
  • Cost effective mapping solution
